Chantal Chung

Chantal joined Hugill & Ip as an intern, then as a Trainee Solicitor in the summer of 2026. She assists the Private Client and Litigation teams on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Before joining the firm, Chantal worked at a leading advisory and accounting firm, advising clients on regional mobility, Hong Kong inbound immigration, risk and compliance, as well as employment-related matters.

Chantal also led access-to-justice and public legal education programmes at a charitable organisation. Her work reached more than 3,000 individuals and organisations, generating meaningful social and economic value for the community.

Chantal read law at The University of Law before completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at The University of Hong Kong. Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History and Politics from the University of Sheffield. During her studies, she participated in international debating and mooting competitions, where she was recognised as one of the top oralists.

Outside of work, Chantal enjoys running, exploring martial arts, and engaging with arts, culture and heritage.

Chantal is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
