CURRENT OPENINGS

We are currently looking for a Paralegal / Legal Executive – Private Client to bring his/her knowledge and expertise to the Probate & Trust practice area.

The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of legal tasks, including case and document management, and simple legal drafting. They will play a crucial role in supporting our legal department and ensuring the efficient operation of our office.

Job Description

Case Management:

  • Maintain and manage case files, including the organization of documents and opening new physical dividers/files for matters to keep original documents in the safe.
  • Open new files on the server and on clio and filing the scanned documents accordingly during onboarding process.
  • Prepare retainer letters, client information forms, and trust requests
  • Assist with preparing vouchers for settling invoices and estate monies remittances and liaising internally to make sure complete

Document Drafting and Review:

  • Draft simple legal documents, including Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorneys, and Deed of Appointment of Guardianships
  • Draft acknowledgment of receipts and list of documents
  • Review and proofread documents to ensure accuracy

Client Interaction:

  • Communicate with clients on finalized matters and coordinate with them to return original documents
  • Schedule and attend to clients independently to pass documents back to them at end of matter
  • Attending to clients for signing of affirmations

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support, including calendar management and saving incoming documents onto the server.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of meetings
  • Manage our Wills, Safe, and Grants Register, including regularly updating and reviewing
  • Seal Wills, EPOAs, AHD etc. and place originals in our safe
  • Conducting weekly Will Search (as per weekly circular from Law Society)

The Successful Applicant will be:

  • F5 and above for the Paralegal position; or
  • Holder of Diploma in Legal Studies for the Legal Executive position
  • Experience in Private Client is a definite plus
  • Familiar with Probate Registry procedures is also an advantage
  • Good command of English and Cantonese
  • Good computer skills
  • Well organized, mature, self-motivated and able to work independently

Applying for a training contract is a two-way process. You need to find a firm that is going to offer you the style of training contract you want in the areas of law that interest you. From our perspective, we need to recruit dedicated and committed individuals who want to contribute to our continuing success.

Note: Openings for Trainee Contracts for 2024 intake have been filled. We encourage interested candidates to apply for Internship seats as a fast-track selection for future Traineeships.

Non-Legal

Our legal teams are supported by paralegals, administrators and secretaries who are very much part of the team. We welcome applications from people who have the experience and enthusiasm and who want to support and drive forward the success of the firm.

Internships

Our internship programme is an opportunity for students to gain valuable insight into working in a busy legal environment.

We look for well-rounded individuals with excellent academic results, language and research skills. We offer the program on an ongoing basis for periods ranging from two weeks to one month, or even longer.

To enable you to get the most from the experience, you will work closely with lawyers, trainees and paralegals who will offer you guidance and supervision in order for interns to gain hands-on experience and widen your horizons.
