Having been in the private practice for nearly 15 years, Freda continues to stay focused in serving her onshore as well as offshore clients in dealing with a broad spectrum of private client work ranging from family-related issues, estate planning, trust set up, tax, probate and estate disputes. Apart from individuals, Freda also works closely with international law firms and professional trustees in advising companies with respect to their pre-IPO trusts and employee benefit schemes.
Freda’s invaluable experience in dealing with local and overseas post-death issues such as probate and estate administration has made her a unique private client lawyer when it comes to will-drafting for clients with cross border interests and assets. Freda believes each client has an exclusive preference when dealing with his or her wealth planning and hence, Freda and her team are committed in bringing personalized care and tailored made solutions for her clients.
Prior to joining Hugill & Ip, Freda was a special counsel at an international law firm and then at a local firm in association with a reputable PRC law firm. Freda enjoys philanthropy work and she extends her practice in giving pro bono services to charitable institutions, advising them on legacy giving initiatives. Freda also helps clients further their charitable objectives including the set-up of charitable foundations.
Freda is also a regular speaker for events hosted by banks and institutions. She speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew and Malay.
During her spare time, Freda enjoys reading, listening to music and funky dance.
