Kevin Chiu

Kevin joined Hugill & Ip as an intern and subsequently as a Trainee Solicitor in 2023. Following his training in the matrimonial and litigation team (with a particular focus on contentious trusts and estates), he was admitted as a Solicitor of the HKSAR in 2025.

His experience encompasses a range of high-net-worth cases, dealing with validity of Wills, disputes among beneficiaries and executors/administrators in estate administration matters such as cash distribution and property sales and executor/administrator removals. He also handles guardianship, and committee applications for mentally incapacitated persons and matrimonial matters such as divorce, judgment summons and committal proceedings.

Kevin received the Individual Gold Award in the Law Society 2024 Awards for the Pro-bono and Community Recognition Programme.

Prior to joining Hugill & Ip, Kevin completed internships in diverse environments, including NGOs, MNCs, and international law firms. He was also selected as a Millennium Fellow, distinguishing himself among over 25,000 applicants worldwide, in the leadership program presented by the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network.

Kevin obtained a Bachelor of Laws (with a Minor in Japanese Language) from the University of Hong Kong before completing his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the same university.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys traveling, photography, bowling, and cooking.

Kevin is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He has had exposure to Korean and Portuguese and is currently pursuing further studies in Japanese.
