1st December 2018 will mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of World AIDS Day. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV. AIDS Concern is hosting the “Red Festival” to raise funds and build awareness among the community about the threat of HIV by supporting World AIDS Day.

AIDS Concern believes that the unfriendly environment to LGBTI people prevent them from getting equal opportunity in health. AIDS Concern aims at eliminating the stigma towards the minority groups and supports anti-discrimination of sexual minorities.

“TRACEY” shines a light on sexual diversity and challenges us to accept people who are different to us but part of our community. Understanding is the first step to eliminate the stigma and myths towards LGBTI people.

“TRACEY” is the first mainstream movie about transgender people produced in Hong Kong. It is being described as “the Hong Kong Danish Girl” by local media, referencing the Oscar-winning Eddie Redmayne film. The story is talking about Tai-hung, in his 50s, who lives happily with his wife. Informed of the death of his high school friend, Tai-hung’s secret past resurfaces.

AIDS Concern was established in 1990 as the first non-government charity organisation committed to the service of AIDS care in Hong Kong. The founders were a group of volunteers from different backgrounds dedicated to improving the living standards for people living with HIV and to stop the spread of HIV.
