Hugill & Ip is delighted to co-sponsor the Legal Service Cup – a field hockey match in support of three children’s charities.

The event takes place in Happy Valley (Pitch 11) on Friday 17 December at 7pm.

There will be two mixed-gender teams competing: one consisting of barristers and solicitors and the other of employees from the Correctional Services Department.

Donations will support the following charities: The Hong Kong Committee on Children’s Rights, ACA (Against Child Abuse) and Hong Kong Unison.

Join us to watch the game and help with your donations. Everyone is welcome to join!

Children‘s issues are a particular focus of Hugill & Ip’s social responsibility efforts, starting last year with the #ProtectYourChildren campaign in support of Adoption Awareness Month – headed by Mother’s Choice.

The Hong Kong Committee on Children’s Rights was born with the main goal to lobby for extension of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child to Hong Kong. In conjunction with Against Child Abuse, the Committee organized a series of activities aiming to promote the concept of children’s rights. With the extension of the Convention to Hong Kong in September 1994, the work of the Committee took on a new dimension and from December 1995, the Hong Kong Committee on children’s Rights officially became an independent organization. Now the Committee operates in an independent address under the roof of a charming heritage building in Western District, which also serves as the secretariat office of Kids’ Dream – Hong Kong’s first child-led organization that focuses on promoting children’s rights with children’s efforts. Together with ACA, the charity provides secretarial and mentorship support to Kids’ Dream to help it grow.

ACA (Against Child Abuse) aims to promote a caring and non-violent environment for the optimal growth and development of children. It provides quality child protection programmes of both remedial and preventive nature. Its services range from crisis intervention, therapeutic, educational, developmental to recreational and networking. The service targets include children, parents and victims of abuse. A specific attention is also given to prevention, training and advocacy.

Hong Kong Unison is a not-for-profit organisation committed to advance racial equality and equal opportunities in social participation, particularly education, for ethnic minorities of Hong Kong through policy influencing and practice change. The organization strives to build a fair and inclusive society in which everyone, regardless of race, language, culture and social and economic status, enjoys equal rights and opportunities.
