Highlights
Catherine highlights the major aims of PathFinders as an NGO and the most recent challenges that many MDWs have faced during the 5th wave of COVID-19 pandemic, giving examples and solutions found through working with different stakeholders. She also emphasizes the significant contribution that MDWs have on Hong Kong society, making possible for many working women – particularly working mothers – to be engaged in the workforce because of the help they receive at home. PathFinders works to facilitate a better dialogue and understanding between MDWs and employers to make sure that the whole pregnancy experience is smoother for both parties.
Alfred talks about the difficulty that often many individuals in emergency and dire situations face vis-a-vis the legal framework and procedures. He also explains the importance of putting in place deeds of guardianship and how these work within the overall estate planning process.
They bring up a few real-life stories during the discussion before moving to answering a series of questions from the live audience.
